What is Child Sponsorship?
Child Sponsorship is a program where donors provide financial support to help improve the lives of children in need. When donors sponsor a child $35 monthly, donors help break the cycle of poverty by providing access to education, health care, and basic necessities. The sponsorship also includes regular updates and communication between the sponsor and the child.
Good Neighbors USA’s Child Sponsorship program is differentiated by its comprehensive approach, which focuses not only on the child but also on the community’s development. We emphasize sustainable solutions, transparency, and direct involvement of local communities in planning and implementation.

A. Monthly Sponsorship: Sponsoring a child costs $35 per month. Your sponsorship helps children get access to education, health care, and basic necessities.
Gift Giving: Send a donation for your sponsored child’s birthday or special occasion.
A. Your sponsorship provides nutritious meals, school supplies, school tuition, vaccinations, and medical check ups. It is also used to improve facilities and programs, such as schools, hospitals, sanitation facilities, and water wells in the Community Development Projects (CDP) that your child resides.
You will also receive regular updates and pictures of your child and their family. You can track how your money is used through our financial statement.
A. Children are selected for Child Sponsorship according to their financial and situational needs. Our local staff are well acquainted with the communities the children live in and receive recommendations from local development committee members and/or school principals in the area. The criteria for selection include:
- Impoverished children living in the area
- Children who cannot be properly cared for and protected at home
- Children from low-income families needing support due to illness or other reasons
- Impoverished children selected by local schools and village committees
A. Yes, you can sponsor as many children as you want! Supporting more than one child makes a greater impact by helping more children and their families
A. Good Neighbors strives to aid the sponsored community for ten years at least. We encourage sponsors to continue their Child Sponsorship program until the child turns 18 years old. In the case that child needs additional aid after turning 18, we encourage sponsors to continue their sponsorship until we see that they have reached a level of self-sufficiency.
